Training and Personal
Dr. Gunn grew up in Virginia Beach. He graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. He completed his residency at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia. After completing his residency, he joined the Air Force. While in the Air Force, he met his wife and now has 3 children. He now resides in Berlin, Maryland. He is board certified family physician.
In his free time, Dr. Gunn enjoys running, cross training, the beach, and spending time with his family.
Philosophy
Dr. Gunn believes that as a doctor his roll is to partner with his patients on a journey to health, coming to understand their physiologic uniqueness, goals, beliefs, and values. Then take this information to formulate a plan to promote health and healing. He doesn’t believe the one size fits all approach currently witnessed in conventional medicine. He believes that we should focus on treating the cause of the illness, and not just treat the underlying symptoms. Treatments must be individualized. Dr. Gunn has come to realize the importance of addressing all aspects of his patients lives as it relates to the body, mind, spirit and environment.
